India’s BRICS Summit Prioritized Global South and Delivered 50 Outcomes

India hosted a two-day meeting of BRICS countries.

The meeting focused on giving more attention to countries in the Global South.

India also invited leaders from countries and regional groups that are not BRICS members.

Officials said this was meant to make BRICS more inclusive.

India held more than 350 meetings in about 30 cities.

Its priorities included health, food security, energy, digital public infrastructure and disaster resilience.

India said its chairmanship produced more than 50 outcomes.

The officials also said BRICS should condemn terrorism without qualification and support changes to global governance.

Countries also agreed to include cooperation on critical minerals in the New Delhi Declaration.
