Rural India Sees Strong Income and Consumption Rise
A recent survey by NABARD shows that rural India is doing much better economically.
About 80% of rural households have reported higher spending over the past year.
This is because people are earning more money, and prices for goods are not increasing as fast.
More people are also using formal banks for loans instead of informal lenders.
The government's support, like subsidies and pensions, has helped too.
People are feeling more optimistic about the future, with many expecting their incomes to rise next year.
Overall, rural India is on a positive path.
80% of rural households reported higher consumption over the past year.
42.2% of households experienced income growth, the highest since the survey began.
75.9% of households expect their incomes to rise next year.
58.3% of rural households accessed formal sources of credit, up from 48.7% in September 2024.
Average inflation perception dropped to 3.77%, the lowest in one year.
