BJP MLA Criticizes Congress's Stance on Manipur's President's Rule
A BJP leader in Manipur is accusing the Congress party of changing its mind about how the state should be run.
He says that the Congress first wanted the President (the national leader) to take over the government.
Now, the Congress wants the state to have its own elected leaders or have new elections.
The BJP leader points out that Congress initially requested this change, and now they are saying something different.
The state is currently under President's Rule after the previous leader stepped down in February, and the state's parliament is not active right now.
BJP MLA L Susindro Meitei accused the Congress of contradicting its stance on President's Rule in Manipur.
Meitei stated that Congress initially demanded President's Rule but now calls for a return to a popular government or new elections.
He recalled that the Congress was the first to demand President's Rule, including their MP in Parliament.
Meitei mentioned that President's rule was imposed on February 13 after the Chief Minister resigned on February 9.
The Manipur Assembly, with a term until 2027, is currently under suspended animation.
