Andhra Pradesh Governor Launches 77th TB Seal Sale Campaign
Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer launched a campaign to help fight tuberculosis, or TB.
The campaign is being held for the 77th time.
Nazeer said TB still takes lives, even though ways to prevent and treat it have improved.
He explained that TB can affect not only a person's health but also families and communities.
He said people need information, early diagnosis and help with prevention and nutrition.
Communities also have an important role in supporting people affected by TB.
The campaign asks people and organisations to help raise awareness and contribute.
The aim is to support India's effort to eliminate TB before the global 2030 target.
Justice S Abdul Nazeer launched the 77th TB Seal Sale Campaign at Lok Bhavan in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Nazeer said tuberculosis remains deadly despite advances in prevention and treatment.
He described TB as a medical, social and economic challenge affecting people, families and communities.
He said efforts should include awareness, early diagnosis, prevention, nutrition, social support and community participation.
He urged citizens, institutions, businesses and voluntary groups to support the campaign and the goal of eliminating TB ahead of the 2030 SDG target.
