ICJ Orders Israel to Allow Aid into Gaza, Criticizes World Body's Failures
Imagine a big court called the ICJ that makes sure countries follow world rules.
This court told Israel that it must let more help, like food and medicine, into a place called Gaza.
The court said it's against the rules to use hunger as a weapon and that Israel hasn't been doing enough to help people in Gaza get what they need.
Israel said it doesn't agree with the court's decision.
The court also said that for countries to be truly independent, they should be able to join the United Nations fully, and it highlighted that the UN itself has problems that make it hard to help everyone, especially when powerful countries can block decisions.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ruled that Israel must allow United Nations aid into Gaza.
The court unanimously declared that starvation as a method of warfare is prohibited under international law.
Israel is in breach of its obligations as a UN member for failing to adequately provide aid to Gaza over the past two years.
Israel has 'categorically rejected' the ICJ's findings and did not participate in the oral proceedings.
The ruling also highlighted failures within the UN system, including the inability to grant Palestine full membership and the use of veto power in the Security Council.
