8th Pay Commission: No Funds in 2026-27 Budget
The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) was formed on 3 November 2025.
It will take 18 months to submit its report, so the earliest it can be implemented is late 2027 or early 2028.
The government has not allocated any funds for the 8th CPC in the 2026-27 budget because the commission's work has just begun.
The 8th CPC will affect around 1.2 crore people, including 50.14 lakh central government employees and 69 lakh pensioners.
The commission will decide its own methodology for consultations and recommendations.
