FIA Keeps Software Fixes After Grand Prix Bug Investigation

FIA Keeps Software Fixes After Grand Prix Bug Investigation

A software problem made some race cars lose power while they were moving slowly.

This happened during the start procedure after heavy rain delayed the race.

The FIA said the problem was found within five minutes.

It sent teams revised software settings, and the cars were made ready to start later.

For Singapore, the FIA plans to use the settings that were established at Sepang if similar weather is expected.

The FIA said teams had tested the software in simulations and during practice sessions.

It also plans another wet-weather software update for the United States Grand Prix.

The FIA says it will work with teams and engine makers to improve testing.
