CEC Gyanesh Kumar Steps Up International Election Diplomacy Amid SIR

In India, the person in charge of running elections is called the Chief Election Commissioner, and right now that person is Gyanesh Kumar.

He is talking to leaders from other countries about how to make elections fair.

Since the middle of July, he has met people from 41 countries.

He is also the chairperson of a group called International IDEA, which helps democracies around the world.

In these meetings, they talk about keeping voter lists clean and making sure elections are transparent and honest.

They also talk about using technology in elections and training the people who run them.

They discuss a plan called the Delhi Declaration and a big meeting called IICDEM.

Mr. Kumar is inviting ambassadors to another big conference planned for January 2027.

By September, he hopes to have met with people from 81 countries.
