Dipke: India’s Protest Should Stand on Gandhi’s Legacy
Abhijeet Dipke, the leader of a student group called CJP, said that Indian protests should be inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, not compared to protests in Bangladesh or Nepal.
He praised the peaceful protest in Delhi where students sat calmly at Jantar Mantar.
Dipke said the government is slow to give money to families of students who died by suicide after failing the NEET exam.
He wants the government to spend more on schools and make learning more practical, like in the United States.
Dipke will meet with his team on August 5 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to plan more actions.
He also said he will support other student protests across India, no matter which political party is in power.
He thinks education should be the main topic in elections because it shapes the future.
He wants the government to listen to students and fix problems in exams and recruitment.
He believes that students should not become like political leaders who misuse power.
He hopes the government will change its policies soon.
