Mizoram CM Sets Futsal Ambitions for State
The chief minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, said his state wants to become a big name in futsal, a type of indoor soccer.
He told the local football club that winning the national title is good, but they should aim for bigger tournaments like the Asian Cup and the world cup.
The state will build better sports facilities and give more help to young players.
Mizoram’s young people are very good at sports, so the government thinks they can help India do well in futsal.
The plan is part of a bigger program called Bana Kaih that supports sports in the state.
Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced the state’s ambition to become a hub for Indian futsal talent.
He urged the state’s football association and players to aim beyond the national title toward the AFC Futsal Asian Cup and FIFA Futsal World Cup.
The government will invest in sports infrastructure and athlete development under the ‘Bana Kaih’ scheme.
Tlangnuam Futsal Club, winners of the 2025‑26 AIFF Futsal Championship, were congratulated and encouraged to set higher goals.
