Netanyahu Warns Heavy Price Over Flydubai Cockpit Attack

Netanyahu Warns Heavy Price Over Flydubai Cockpit Attack

A Flydubai plane was flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv when the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain.

The captain, Smit Machchhar, was hurt but managed to open the cockpit door.

Passengers, crew members and other pilots helped stop the attacker.

The plane landed safely in Saudi Arabia, and no one died.

Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said the attacker may have been influenced by Islamist radicalization.

He also said investigators were checking whether someone else had sent the co-pilot.

Netanyahu warned that whoever was responsible would face a very serious response.

The United Arab Emirates called the incident a terrorist act, but the investigation is not finished.

No evidence identifying a country behind the attack was provided in the reports.
