Delhi High Court Rejects Jiu-Jitsu Athlete’s Asian Games Entry

A jiu-jitsu athlete wanted to compete in the Asian Games.

He asked the Delhi High Court to make authorities send him.

He said he met the eligibility requirements.

The sporting authorities had decided not to send any athlete for jiu-jitsu.

His name was also not submitted before the May 14 deadline.

The court said it cannot make sporting decisions instead of the proper authorities.

The Games had already started in Japan, so the court said it could not provide useful relief.

The Asian Games are scheduled to run from September 19 to October 4.
