MSRTC Rolls Out 'Panchsutri' Plan for Transformation
Imagine the MSRTC is like a big bus company that needs to run better.
The boss, Mr. Sarnaik, has created a five-part plan to help.
First, they will check how things are going every single day, right from the smallest bus stops to the bigger offices.
Second, they are going to fix the bus schedules so they make more sense and buses arrive on time.
Third, drivers and ticket sellers will have goals to reach, like driving a certain distance or earning a certain amount of money.
If they don't meet their goals, they will get extra help or training.
Fourth, they will make sure the buses are clean and that passengers get information quickly if there are delays.
Finally, they want to make sure more people are using the buses and that the company makes more money so it can keep running well and serving everyone.
MSRTC announces 'Panchsutri' plan focusing on daily evaluations, revised schedules, performance targets, and improved passenger services.
Daily review meetings mandated at depot, division, and regional office levels to address operational issues and plan for the next day.
Performance targets introduced for drivers (KPTL) and conductors (CPKM), with support and corrective measures for underperformance.
Timetable management is being overhauled with scientific reassessment of routes and a new station-wise timetable to be released on January 1.
Enhancements in passenger amenities include cleanliness, timely communication, prompt complaint resolution, and expansion of online ticketing.
