Assam CM Sarma Calls Chidambaram 'Pure Naxal' in Political Spat
The leader of Assam, a state in India, said something very strong about a famous politician named P. Chidambaram.
He called him a 'pure Naxal.'
A Naxal is someone who uses violence to fight the government.
This argument started after India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, gave a big speech on Independence Day.
In that speech, Modi said the army had gotten rid of armed Naxals, but there were still 'dimagi Naxals.'
'Dimagi' means 'mental' in Hindi, so it means people who think like Naxals.
Chidambaram said he was proud to be called a 'dimagi Naxal.'
Then Sarma said Chidambaram was not just a 'dimagi Naxal' but a 'pure Naxal.'
Sarma also said the Congress party wants to create trouble in the country so it can win the 2029 elections.
He asked people to check what Chidambaram did when he was the Home Minister.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called Congress leader P Chidambaram a 'pure Naxal' at a press conference in Dispur.
Sarma accused the Congress party of seeking to create anarchy in the country to return to power in 2029.
The remarks followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's August 15 Independence Day address warning about 'dimagi Naxals.'
Chidambaram responded on social media on August 16, saying he was 'proud to be a dimagi Naxal.'
Sarma questioned Chidambaram's record as Union Home Minister in tackling Left-Wing Extremism.
