ISRO to Launch 6.5-Tonne US Satellite
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is going to launch a big satellite called BlueBird-6 for a US company on December 15.
This satellite is very heavy, weighing 6.5 tonnes, and will be sent into space using India's strongest rocket, LVM3.
The satellite is special because it has a very large antenna that can send and receive a lot of data.
This is the second time ISRO is working with the US on a big satellite project.
Earlier, they launched a satellite called NISAR together.
The BlueBird-6 satellite will help with communication and can cover a lot of area on Earth.
ISRO's commercial branch is handling the launch.
The satellite arrived in India on October 19 and will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center.
The LVM3 rocket can carry payloads weighing up to 8,000 kg to low-Earth orbit.
ISRO to launch the 6.5-tonne BlueBird-6 satellite for US-based AST SpaceMobile on December 15.
BlueBird-6 is one of the heaviest commercial satellites and features the largest commercial phased array in LEO.
The satellite arrived in India on October 19 and will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center.
This is the second collaboration between ISRO and the US, following the successful launch of the NISAR satellite in July.
The LVM3 rocket, capable of carrying up to 8,000 kg to LEO, will be used for the launch.
