Telangana Forms Panel to Probe KCR Family Land Holdings
The Telangana government has created a committee to look into alleged problems involving some land holdings.
The properties are linked to leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, including former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
The government order lists 16 land-related matters in several districts.
A. Sridevasena will lead the committee, and Rajeevgandhi Hanumanthu will help coordinate it.
Sandeep Kumar Jha is also named as a member.
The committee will check whether land laws, rules or government orders were broken.
It can ask government offices and local authorities for records and information.
The committee must send its findings to the government quickly and may submit partial reports.
One report describes the panel as having three members, while another describes it as having four.
The Telangana government issued G.O.Ms.No.134 to investigate alleged land irregularities involving BRS leaders and 16 listed land matters.
The inquiry includes properties linked to K. Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao and other political figures.
A. Sridevasena will chair the panel, with Rajeevgandhi Hanumanthu as convenor and Jangaon Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha among its members.
The committee can requisition records, data and personnel and examine possible violations of laws, rules, government orders and related instructions.
