Cabinet Approves Major Highway Projects in Maharashtra and Odisha
The Indian government has approved two big road projects.
One is a new 6-lane highway connecting Nashik, Solapur, and Akkalkot in Maharashtra.
It will cost ₹19,142 crore and is expected to make travel faster and safer.
The other project is upgrading an existing highway in Odisha called NH-326.
This will cost ₹1,526.21 crore and will make the road safer and quicker to travel on.
Both projects aim to help people and goods move more easily, create jobs, and support the economy in these regions.
The Cabinet approved a 374 km, 6-lane Nashik-Solapur-Akkalkot corridor in Maharashtra at a cost of ₹19,142 crore.
The project aims to reduce travel time by 17 hours and improve connectivity to key cities and industrial nodes.
The corridor will connect major expressways and highways, enhancing west coast to east coast connectivity.
The Cabinet also approved the upgrade of NH-326 in Odisha, a 243.1 km stretch, at a cost of ₹1,526.21 crore.
The NH-326 upgrade will improve road safety, reduce travel time by 2.5 to 3 hours, and boost economic growth in southern Odisha.
