Alibag Launches Motorcycle, Scooter Rentals for Tourists
Alibag, a popular tourist spot, is now offering motorcycle and scooter rentals!
The government has allowed licensed operators to rent bikes to tourists, similar to what's done in places like Goa.
This new service aims to make it easier and more affordable for people to explore the area.
The 'Rent A Motorcycle Scheme' was approved in 1997 but was put on hold.
Now, it's back, and Alibag is one of the first places to offer this service.
It should help tourists and give locals a new way to earn money.
It will also help curb the exploitation of arbitrary fares charged by taxis and auto rickshaws.
Motorcycle and scooter rentals are now available in Alibag for tourists.
The service is offered under the 'Rent A Motorcycle Scheme, 1997'.
Two operators have been granted licenses by the State Transport Authority.
The scheme was revived after a nine-year freeze.
The initiative is expected to boost tourism and provide an affordable transport option.
