Tech‑Driven Child Trafficking Alarm Raised in Andhra Pradesh
A group that looks after children in Andhra Pradesh said that bad people are using the internet to trick kids into dangerous jobs.
They told families to watch out for fake job offers and online romance stories.
The group has a program called Bala Samvad that talks directly with kids to keep them safe.
They also work with police, schools, and other groups to stop child trafficking, child labor, and child marriage.
A recent case showed kids were promised jobs in Singapore but were taken to Myanmar to do scams, so the group wants everyone to check job offers carefully.
APSCPCR warns that child trafficking has become a technology‑driven crime using online job offers and romance scams.
Chairperson Vetukuri A.V.S. Suryanarayana Raju said trafficking now enters homes via mobile phones and fake overseas employment offers.
The commission’s Bala Samvad programme facilitates direct interaction with children and strengthens protection systems at district and village levels.
APSCPCR works with police, child welfare committees, juvenile justice boards, district child protection units, schools, and civil society to prevent trafficking, child labour, child marriages, and sexual offences.
HELP secretary Nimmaraju Rammohan cited a case where Andhra Pradesh youth were lured by promises of jobs in Singapore and trafficked to Myanmar for cyber scams.
