UPI Transaction Limits Raised for High-Value Payments
Imagine UPI, the way you pay with your phone.
The government is letting you pay more money at once.
Starting September 15, 2025, you can pay up to 5 lakh rupees at a time for things like insurance, investments, and travel.
You can still pay up to 10 lakh rupees daily for some categories.
This change makes it easier to pay for bigger purchases.
Your bank might have its own limits, but overall, paying through UPI is becoming more flexible.
NPCI has increased UPI transaction limits for certain payment categories.
The new limits are for Person-to-Merchant (P2M) payments, effective from September 15, 2025.
Capital market investments, insurance, and government transactions can now reach ₹5 lakh per transaction.
Credit card bills, loan EMIs, and travel payments also have increased limits.
Person-to-Person (P2P) payment limits remain unchanged at ₹1 lakh per day.
