Duplantis & McLaughlin-Levrone Named Athletes Of The Year
Armand Duplantis and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone were named the best athletes of the year by World Athletics.
Armand is a pole vaulter from Sweden who set four new records and won all his competitions.
Sydney is an American runner who set a new record in the 400m race and won the world title.
They both received this award because they did really well in their sports.
Other athletes also won awards for their achievements in different events like high jump, long-distance running, and racewalking.
Armand Duplantis and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone were named World Athletics athletes of the year in Monaco.
Duplantis set four pole vault records, remained unbeaten in 16 competitions, and broke the world record 14 times.
McLaughlin-Levrone ran the second fastest 400m time ever, won the world 400m title, and the 4x400m relay.
