Minister Urges Karnataka Ratna for Late Actor-Politician Ambareesh

Ramalinga Reddy wants the Karnataka government to give a special award to M H Ambareesh after his death.

The award is called the Karnataka Ratna.

Reddy wrote to Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi to make the request.

Ambareesh acted in more than 200 films and was known as the “Rebel Star.”

He also served as an elected representative and minister.

Reddy said Ambareesh helped artists and worked for farmers, especially in Mandya and the Cauvery basin.

A fan association had also asked Reddy to seek the honour.

He suggested announcing it during Karnataka Rajyotsava or at another suitable time.
