Neral–Matheran Toy Train Service Resumes After Monsoon Break
Imagine a tiny, special train that goes up a big, green hill in India.
This train has to take a break every year when it rains a lot, from June to October, to make sure the tracks stay safe.
But good news!
The train is starting to run again on November 6th, 2025.
This means people can ride it again to see the beautiful trees and cool views.
There will be two trains going up the hill and two trains coming back down each day.
Some special fancy train cars even have big windows so you can see everything outside!
Even when the main train is resting, a smaller one still runs to help people get around quickly on parts of the track.
The Neral–Matheran toy train service will resume on November 6, 2025, after a four-month monsoon break.
The service was suspended annually from June to October for track safety during heavy rains.
The 21-kilometer historic narrow-gauge route, operational since 1907, is a UNESCO heritage corridor.
Two pairs of trains will run daily with options for second-class, first-class, and vistadome coaches.
Safety checks and minor repairs, including vegetation clearance, were completed before the reopening.
