EaseMyTrip Ordered to Pay Rs 43,000 for Stranding Groom

A groom was stranded at Leh airport before his wedding because his flight was cancelled without notice.

He had booked the flight through EaseMyTrip, which sold him the ticket two days after Go First had stopped operating.

The groom had to hire a car to reach his wedding, incurring additional expenses.

The consumer commission ordered EaseMyTrip to pay Rs 43,261, including a refund of the airfare, compensation for mental agony, and litigation expenses.

EaseMyTrip argued that it was only an intermediary, but the commission held it responsible for not informing the passenger about the cancellation and arranging alternative travel.
