India and Brazil Collaborate on Cattle Genetics
India and Brazil have teamed up to make cows and buffaloes better through science.
They signed an agreement to work together on improving these animals' genetics.
Brazil has advanced technology, and India has many cows and farms.
They will build a special lab in India to help cows produce more milk, be healthier, and handle climate changes better.
This will help farmers in India, especially in Uttar Pradesh, which produces a lot of milk.
The project will also make India a leader in dairy science.
Everyone involved is excited because it will help farmers, scientists, and the dairy industry in both countries.
India and Brazil signed a tripartite MoU to advance dairy cattle and buffalo genomics.
The agreement involves Embrapa (Brazil) and Indian companies Leads Genetics, B.L. Kamdhenu Farms, and Leads Connect Services.
A state-of-the-art Cattle & Buffalo Genomics Laboratory will be established in India.
The collaboration aims to improve milk production, reproductive efficiency, and climate resilience in key cattle species.
The project will initially focus on Uttar Pradesh, India's largest milk-producing state, and will transform livestock productivity and scientific capabilities.
