Hegseth Pressured Rescued F-15 Airmen Over ‘60 Minutes’ Interview
Two American airmen survived after their F-15 went down in Iran in April.
One airman spent more than a day avoiding enemy patrols before being rescued.
People familiar with the situation say defense officials wanted both airmen to appear on television.
One airman agreed to the interview, but the other refused.
Pentagon officials deny that the airmen were pressured.
Some military officers worried the program could reveal secret information.
CBS worked for months to obtain the exclusive interview.
The episode was filmed in August and was scheduled for the new season of 60 Minutes.
Insiders say Pete Hegseth’s team pressed both rescued airmen to appear on 60 Minutes.
One airman, identified as “Bravo,” agreed, while “Alpha” declined the interview.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell called the account completely false and said the pilots alone decided.
Some officers feared the broadcast could expose sensitive military tactics while fighting continued in Iran.
CBS secured the interview after months of negotiations, with filming completed in mid-August.
