Punjab Resolves MGNREGA Strike, VB GRAM G to Resume
The Punjab government had a big problem: workers who help build roads and other things in villages were on strike for two months.
The government talked with the workers and agreed to fix their problems.
Because of this, the workers stopped striking and went back to work.
Now, a new program called VB GRAM G will start in all villages from July 1.
The workers will help make sure people get jobs and the villages get better roads and buildings.
The government says this will help the whole state grow and make life better for people in the countryside.
Punjab government settled long‑pending MGNREGA employee demands after a two‑month strike.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said the issues were resolved through dialogue and consensus.
The union thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, FM Cheema and Rural Development Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond.
VB GRAM G programme will now run smoothly in all villages from Thursday, July 1.
Employees will resume duties to provide wage employment and build rural infrastructure.
