Cancer Survivor Turns to 3D Technology for Jaw Reconstruction

Arvind Tagare is a retired engineer who lives in Indore.

In March 2024, doctors found cancer in the lining of his right cheek.

He had extensive surgery and other treatments.

Afterward, part of his jaw and face had a major defect.

He also found it hard to open his mouth.

An opening between his mouth and nose caused food and drinks to go up into his nose.

Tagare said these changes made eating, speaking, and swallowing difficult.

His doctors explained that 3D technology could help rebuild his jaw to fit his face.

He hoped this could help him feel more confident and return to everyday life.
