BJP Demands Probe into Chaibasa Police Action
Some people in Chaibasa were very upset because many trucks were causing accidents and hurting people.
They blocked a road to ask for help, but the police used sticks and tear gas to make them leave.
A politician named Aditya Sahu said this was not fair and asked the government to investigate what happened.
He also said that the government should not treat people, especially important ones like former leaders, badly.
He wants the government to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Tribal protesters in Chaibasa blocked the Tata Bypass Road to demand a ban on daytime movement of overloaded trucks.
Police responded with a lathicharge, tear gas, and detained several villagers, arresting 17 people and registering cases against 575 individuals.
BJP's Aditya Sahu raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha, alleging excessive police action and lack of government response to the protesters' grievances.
Sahu also accused the Deputy Commissioner of inappropriate behavior towards former Chief Minister Madhu Koda.
Sahu demanded a high-level probe into the incident and action against those involved in the police crackdown.
