Strong Jobs Report Raises Stakes for Upcoming Inflation Data

Strong Jobs Report Raises Stakes for Upcoming Inflation Data

The United States added many jobs in August.

The report said 162,000 jobs were created.

A slightly larger share of people also participated in the workforce.

Because the job market looked strong, the Federal Reserve may find it easier to consider raising interest rates.

However, the decision will also depend heavily on new inflation information.

Producer-price data is scheduled for September 10.

Consumer-price data is scheduled for September 11.
