NSE CEO Advocates for F&O Discipline, Not Prohibition
The head of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Ashishkumar Chauhan, believes that instead of banning derivatives trading for regular people, we should focus on better training and rules.
This is because many individual traders lose money in this type of trading.
Chauhan, also known for helping build India's derivatives market, also talked about the NSE's plans to have an IPO.
He said it might take around 8-9 months after getting official approval.
He also mentioned that even though India's average income is not very high, the stock market is doing well because people trust businesses.
NSE CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan argues against banning derivatives trading.
Nearly 91% of individual traders lost money in equity derivatives in FY25.
Chauhan suggests proper training and safeguards for financial instruments.
NSE is awaiting NOC for its IPO, expected in 8-9 months after approval.
Chauhan credits ordinary Indians for the success of the stock market.
