Indian Railways Extends Special Trains Through December 2026
Indian Railways is running some special trains for longer than originally planned.
One pair connects Ranchi and Anand Vihar Terminal.
Another pair connects Shalimar and Charlapalli.
A third pair connects Santragachi and Ajmer.
The trains will run on particular days of the week.
The Ranchi service continues until late November 2026.
The Shalimar service also continues until late November 2026.
The Santragachi–Ajmer service continues until the end of December 2026.
These trains stop at many towns and cities along their routes.
Ranchi–Anand Vihar Terminal special trains will run through November 2026 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Shalimar–Charlapalli special trains will operate through November 2026 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Santragachi–Ajmer special trains will continue through December 2026 on Mondays and Thursdays.
The services connect stations across West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR.
These trains operate only on specified days, not daily, so passengers should check the relevant schedule.

- Train 08611 runs Mondays from October 12 to December 28, 2026; train 08612 runs Thursdays from October 15 to December 31, 2026.

- The route includes stations such as Ghaziabad, Tundla, Mirzapur, Sasaram, Daltonganj, Latehar, Lohardaga and Ranchi.
- Shalimar route
- The route includes Kharagpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur, Rajahmundry, Khammam, Warangal and Kazipet.
- Ajmer route
- The route includes Tatanagar, Ranchi, Singrauli, Katni Murwara, Guna, Baran, Bhilwara and Nasirabad.
