New MagSafe Chargers Could Bring Faster Wireless Charging for iPhone
Apple is working on new MagSafe chargers that could charge your iPhone faster wirelessly.
These chargers might use a new standard called Qi2.2.
While they look similar to the current ones, the big difference is that the iPhone 17 may be able to charge at up to 50W, more than before.
Even if you don't have an iPhone 17, the new chargers should still work with older iPhones, from the iPhone 11 up to the iPhone 16.
Besides faster charging for some phones, the new standard could also make charging more efficient and improve how well your phone sticks to the charger.
Apple is developing new MagSafe chargers potentially supporting 50W wireless charging.
These chargers may comply with the upcoming Qi2.2 wireless charging standard.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to utilize the faster 50W charging.
New chargers will be backwards compatible with iPhone 11 through 16.
Qi2.2 standard will offer improvements in charging efficiency and magnetic alignment.
