Bengali Horror-Comedy Bhootu Aaya Bhago Loses Its Way
Three friends who need money make videos pretending to meet ghosts.
Their videos become popular, but another YouTuber shows that the scares are fake.
To win viewers back, the friends go to a hospital said to be haunted.
There, one friend is possessed by a spirit.
The group tries to learn what happened to the ghost.
The story also brings in crime and gender-identity themes.
The review says the actors work well together, but the movie takes on too many ideas.
It says the movie would have been stronger if it had focused more on its original funny ghost story.
Three financially struggling friends create a YouTube channel staging fake ghost encounters for views.
After a rival exposes their tricks, they visit a supposedly haunted hospital to capture real paranormal activity.
Shyamal becomes possessed, and the friends investigate the spirit’s death.
The plot expands to include an old hospital case involving organ trafficking and money laundering, as well as a gender-identity storyline.
The review praises the leads’ camaraderie but says the film’s shifting genres and influences crowd its premise.
