India Launches Market Access Support for Exporters
The Indian government has started a new program called Market Access Support (MAS) to help Indian companies sell their products abroad.
This program is part of a bigger plan called the Export Promotion Mission (EPM).
The MAS will help small and medium-sized businesses, as well as first-time exporters, by paying for them to attend trade shows and meetings with foreign buyers.
The government will also make a plan for these events so companies can prepare ahead of time.
They want at least 35% of the participants to be small businesses and will help pay for airfare for very small exporters.
The goal is to help Indian companies sell more products around the world, especially because some countries like the US have high taxes on Indian products.
Government launched Market Access Support (MAS) intervention under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) with a budget of ₹4,531 crore for 2025-31.
MAS aims to strengthen international market access for Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs and first-time exporters, in response to high US tariffs.
Structured financial and institutional support provided for activities like Buyer-Seller Meets, international trade fairs, and trade delegations.
Minimum 35% MSME participation mandated with special focus on new geographies and smaller markets; delegation size benchmarked at 50 participants.
End-to-end processes for event participation will be managed through https://trade.gov.in for transparency and ease of access, with mandatory online feedback mechanisms.
