Bengaluru Resident Dreams of a Modern, Culturally Rooted City
Imagine you have a favorite toy that's really old but you love it a lot.
Now, imagine you get a new, super cool toy that does amazing things!
A person who lives in a city called Bengaluru wrote online that they want their city to be like both of these toys.
They want Bengaluru to have new things like fast trains and tall buildings, like the cool new toy.
But they also want it to remember its old things, like its special language and traditions, just like you love your old toy.
They hope the city can grow and be modern, but still feel like home, keeping its own special personality so everyone feels like they belong.
A Reddit user shared a dream for Bengaluru: a city that is calm, green, and has clean neighborhoods with good infrastructure.
The vision includes a modern and global Bengaluru that also deeply respects its cultural roots and language.
The user expressed a desire for Kannada to be learned and valued, not just for necessity, but for a meaningful connection to the city.
The post calls for economic progress without compromising cultural identity, comparing it to how countries like Germany and France preserve their heritage.
The dream Bengaluru is described as a place where progress is measured by a sense of belonging, not just by physical development.
