SC to Examine Postal Ballot for Students
Some students who are not at home want to vote by postal ballot.
They think it's not fair that other people, like those working or doing election duty, can vote this way, but students can't.
They went to the Supreme Court to ask why students are left out.
The Court will now look into this and decide if students should be allowed to vote by post too.
Students away from home petitioned the Supreme Court for postal ballot facilities.
They argue their exclusion is arbitrary and violates constitutional rights.
Current laws provide postal ballots for service voters and election duty personnel.
The Supreme Court will examine the petition.
Students claim the exclusion lacks intelligible differentia or rational nexus.
