ANA to Launch Electric Air Taxis in Japan by 2027
Imagine flying cars that can take you around Tokyo!
The airline ANA is working with Joby Aviation to bring electric air taxis to Japan by 2027.
These taxis will be able to take off and land like a helicopter and fly fast like a plane.
They plan to connect the big airports to downtown Tokyo in about 15 minutes, much faster than a train or car.
They hope it will be affordable for everyone.
The first time you'll be able to see one in action will be at the Osaka Expo in 2025.
This is a big step for new ways to get around, like flying cars!
ANA plans to launch electric air taxis in Japan by 2027 in partnership with Joby Aviation.
The service aims to connect major transport hubs like Narita and Haneda airports to central Tokyo.
Journeys could be reduced from over an hour to approximately 15 minutes by air taxi.
Over 100 five-seater eVTOL aircraft are planned, with speeds up to 320 km/h.
First public demonstration is scheduled for the Osaka Expo in October 2025.
