Hyderabad Medtronic Centre Evolves Into Global Innovation Partner
Medtronic is a company that makes medical tools and devices for doctors and hospitals.
One of its big offices is in Hyderabad, a city in India.
In the beginning, this office only helped with engineering support.
Now it has grown into a place where new inventions are created for patients around the world.
About 1,600 engineers work there.
They build robots that help doctors in surgery, technology for the brain, and devices that help the heart.
The engineers also use artificial intelligence to help write software.
Humans always check the work because medical tools need to be very safe.
The centre has helped Medtronic launch many important new products.

The centre, based in Hyderabad since 2011, now employs close to 1,600 engineers.
Since 2024, teams have deepened work in robotics via Hugo, neuroscience, cardiac technologies, cloud connectivity and AI-enabled software.
About 75 per cent of the workforce focuses on product innovation, supporting more than 200 US patents and over 750 intellectual property disclosures.
Following FDA approval, Medtronic's Hugo robotic platform expanded from urology to gynaecology and general surgery.
