Spain Joins Eurovision Boycott Threat Over Israel
The Eurovision contest is a big music show where countries send artists.
Spain, a major contributor, says it might not join in 2026 if Israel is allowed to compete.
This is because of Israel's actions.
Spain is part of a group of countries that automatically get into the finals.
Other countries have already said they might do the same thing.
This means the contest might not have as many countries competing.
This is similar to a previous call by the Spanish Prime Minister for Israel to be banned from the competition.
Spain will boycott the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest if Israel is allowed to participate.
The Spanish broadcaster RTVE approved the measure.
The vote was supported by a majority of the board.
This follows similar pledges from the Netherlands, Ireland, Slovenia, and Iceland.
Spain is the first "Big Five" country to threaten withdrawal.
