Reliance Power Secures 50% of SJVN's Renewable Storage Tender
Imagine a big company called SJVN wanted to find a way to give electricity that is good for the planet, like from the sun, but also make sure it's available all the time, even when the sun isn't shining.
They asked companies to help them with this big project.
Anil Ambani's company, Reliance Power, through its special part called Reliance NU Energies, said they could do a big part of it.
They won the chance to build half of this project, which includes solar power and big batteries to store the energy.
They promised to give the power at a low price.
This win makes Reliance Power a very big player in storing solar energy, helping India get more clean electricity.
Reliance NU Energies, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has won 50% of SJVN's renewable storage tender.
The tender is for 1500 MW/6000 MWh of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE).
Reliance secured 750 MW/3,000 MWh capacity, emerging as the largest winner with the lowest tariff of Rs 6.74 per kWh.
The project will integrate 900 MWp of solar capacity with over 3,000 MWh of battery storage.
This award makes Reliance Group India's largest player in the Solar + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment.
