Voltas Aims to Triple Home Appliances Business
Voltas, a big company that makes air conditioners, wants to grow its home appliances business a lot in the next few years.
Right now, they make Rs 2,300 crore from home appliances, but they want to make Rs 7,000-8,000 crore in 3-5 years.
They also want to be one of the top three companies in this area.
They are doing this because air conditioners are only popular during certain times of the year, and they want to have products that people buy all the time.
They are also making more factories and hiring more people to help them reach their goals.
They are not planning to make TVs anytime soon because there is too much competition in that area.
They are focusing on things like refrigerators, washing machines, and small kitchen appliances instead.
Voltas aims to grow its home appliances business from Rs 2,300 crore to Rs 7,000-8,000 crore in 3-5 years.
The company plans to diversify beyond seasonal AC business to achieve a wider presence in consumer durables.
Voltas expects a better second half of FY26 driven by improved consumer sentiment and GST rate reduction.
The company is expanding its product portfolio to include small domestic appliances like induction cooktops and air fryers.
Voltas is increasing manufacturing capacity at its plants in Sanand, Chennai, and Pantnagar to achieve its turnover targets.
