Greenply Plans Rs 500 Crore MDF Factory by FY28
Greenply Industries is planning to build a new factory that makes a special kind of board called MDF.
This factory will cost about Rs 500-600 crore and should be ready by the year 2028.
The company's boss, Manoj Tulsian, said they need this new factory because their current one is almost full.
They are still deciding where to build it, but they have some options like Orissa, Baroda, and Sandila.
The company is also excited about new rules that will make plywood better quality, which they think will help them grow.
They believe more people will buy their cheaper brand, Ecotech, because prices will go up.
They also want to sell more of their products to other countries.
Greenply Industries plans to invest Rs 500-600 crore in a new MDF factory by FY28.
Current MDF manufacturing capacity of 1000 CBM per day will be fully utilised by next year.
Potential locations for the new plant include Orissa, Baroda, and Sandila.
New BIS norms for plywood manufacturing will come into effect from February 2026, expected to drive growth in the organised sector.
Greenply anticipates a 15% increase in plywood prices next year and expects its mass brand Ecotech to outpace flagship brand Greenply Plywood.
