Mumbai Court Denies Bail in Dummy-Candidate Insurance Job Fraud

Mumbai Court Denies Bail in Dummy-Candidate Insurance Job Fraud

A court in Mumbai refused to give Chandan Kumar protection from arrest.

He is accused of using another person to take an important job examination and interview for him.

The job was at a government-owned insurance company.

The company says Kumar’s fingerprints or other biometric details did not match the records from the examination.

It also said he received about ₹20.16 lakh in salary.

The company ended his employment after investigating the complaint.

Kumar’s lawyer said he was not given a proper chance to defend himself.

The court said the explanation about his later training biometrics did not resolve the earlier mismatch.
