Another player, M. Pranesh, drew his game, which was enough to advance.
IM Aronyak Ghosh had a tough match against a strong Polish player and won his second game, forcing a tie-breaker to decide who goes forward.
Several other Indian players also drew their games and will play tie-breakers.
Unfortunately, Divya Deshmukh, a strong female player, lost both her matches and was out of the tournament.
