Pedestrian Fatality on Route 495 Causes Lincoln Tunnel Traffic Chaos
A person was hit and sadly died early Wednesday on a highway in New Jersey.
This happened near a big tunnel called the Lincoln Tunnel, which connects New Jersey to New York City.
Because of the accident, cars going away from the tunnel had to be sent onto smaller streets, making traffic very crowded.
Cars trying to get into New York City were also stuck for a long time.
The road that buses use was also closed, making things even worse.
Because of all the problems, people were told to try using a different bridge instead.
A pedestrian was killed on Route 495 in Union City, New Jersey, early Wednesday.
The crash occurred on the westbound side of the highway near Kennedy Boulevard.
Significant traffic delays impacted the Lincoln Tunnel and surrounding areas.
Inbound traffic to New York City was backed up, and bus lanes were affected.
Authorities recommended using the George Washington Bridge as an alternative route.
