How to Retrieve Lost or Forgotten Aadhaar Card Details Online and Offline
Imagine you lost your special ID card, called Aadhaar, or forgot your number.
Don't worry!
India has a system to help you get it back.
If your phone number is linked to your Aadhaar, you can visit a special website.
You'll tell them your name and phone number, and they'll send a secret code to your phone.
Once you enter the code, they'll send your Aadhaar number back to you.
This is free and quick!
If your phone number isn't linked, you can go to a place called an Aadhaar center.
They will check your fingerprints or eyes.
Then, they can print a copy of your Aadhaar card for a small fee.
You can also call a special phone number, like 1947, and they can help you find your Aadhaar number too, and this is free!
Residents can retrieve lost or forgotten Aadhaar numbers or Enrolment IDs through online or offline methods.
Online retrieval via UIDAI website requires a registered mobile number or email and OTP authentication.
Offline retrieval for those without a linked mobile number involves visiting an Aadhaar Centre for biometric verification.
A nominal fee of Rs 30 may be charged for an e-Aadhaar printout at an Aadhaar Centre.
The UIDAI helpline (1947) can also be contacted for assistance in retrieving Aadhaar details free of charge.
