BJP Faces Internal Unrest Over Ticket Allocation
In Maharashtra, some workers of the BJP party are upset because they think the party leaders are not giving tickets to the right people for the upcoming city elections.
These workers say that people who have been with the party for a long time are being ignored, and instead, new people who just joined are getting the tickets.
They had a meeting to talk about this and plan their next steps.
They might even decide to run in the elections together against the people they think are not fair.
The elections are on January 15, and they will announce their final decision on January 5.
In some places, like Thane and Pune, the BJP and Shiv Sena have already won some seats without any competition.
BJP workers in Maharashtra are upset over the allocation of tickets for municipal corporation elections, alleging that loyal workers are being sidelined in favor of new entrants.
A meeting of disgruntled BJP workers was held on January 2, 2024, to discuss the issue and plan their next steps.
The workers plan to announce their final decision on January 5, 2024, and may contest the elections on a single common symbol against 'imported, favoured and outsider candidates'.
Key leaders involved in the dissent include Nitin Shete, Jitesh Chapsi, Madhav Patil Mahalangrikar, Deepak Kulkarni, Kuldeepsingh Thakur, and Vaman Rathod.
The BJP has given tickets to 337 candidates in 29 corporations, with a significant number of new entrants in districts like Nanded, Solapur, Jalna, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Mumbai.
