JSW Energy Secures 25-Year Power Deal
JSW Energy, a big company that makes electricity, has made a deal to sell 400 MW of power to companies in Karnataka for 25 years.
They will charge ₹5.78 for every unit of electricity.
This deal helps JSW Energy have more stable income and less risk.
They already have a lot of power plants and are building more.
The company is also planning to raise ₹13,000 crore to fund its expansion.
Some of this money will come from investors, and some from the company's promoters.
They have also added a lot of new capacity in the last year, including a big green hydrogen plant.
Their stock price went up a little bit today, but it has gone down a bit in the last month.
Overall, in the last year, their stock has gone up by about 11.8%.
JSW Energy signed a 25-year PPA with Karnataka DISCOMs for 400 MW of power supply starting April 1, 2026.
The tariff for the power supply is fixed at ₹5.78 per kWh, reducing JSW Energy's open capacity to about 5% of its current operational capacity.
JSW Energy plans to raise ₹13,000 crore, including ₹10,000 crore through qualified institutional placement and ₹3,000 crore from promoters.
The company has added 5.5 GW of capacity in the past twelve months, including 3.3 GW of renewables and 1.8 GW of thermal.
JSW Energy is committed to achieving 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030, with a goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
