Bengal SIR Brawl: Mamata Banerjee Accuses BJP
Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, recently spoke at a rally in Murshidabad.
She accused the BJP of using the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list to play dirty politics.
She said that more than half of the people who died because of SIR-related incidents were Hindus.
This is a problem for the BJP because it might make Hindus, who usually vote for them, upset.
Mamata also said that the BJP is trying to take away the rights of poor and marginalised people.
Some BJP leaders are worried that this might hurt their chances in the next election.
Mamata is very confident that the SIR will actually help her party, the Trinamool Congress, win more votes.
Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP of using the SIR to play dirty politics and disenfranchise certain groups.
She claimed that more than half of the people who died in SIR-related incidents were Hindus.
BJP leaders fear that the SIR might backfire on them and lose them Hindu votes.
Mamata said that the BJP is trying to establish a detention camp in Bengal, which she strongly opposes.
She expressed respect for all Indians, including those who were persecuted elsewhere for being Bengali.
